Karla Mejia
Sol Y Raíz is the creative art, expression, and experience of Karla Mejia a mother, mentor, and educator. Her work primarily focuses on how to deepen young children’s relationships with the earth through the more than human world. Currently Karla works for a forest school program on Tongva Land in the Santa Monica Mountains. She mentors students and adults on natural dyeing, weaving and ancestral practices. As both a student and mentor of these ancient ways it is her hope to share earth connections with her own community in the San Fernando Valley.
